Are Your Welfare Units Adequate?

Construction workers need adequate toilet and washing facilities, a place to warm up and eat their food and somewhere to store clothing. However, these basic requirements are often neglected. A cold water tap and chemical toilet on their own are not adequate facilities. Good facilities can positively benefit health and well-being and can help to prevent dermatitis.

Protecting Your Investment

Builders and contractors have made a huge investment in materials, plant and machinery and with a large labour force coming and going from a site it is easy to see how things can go missing. In construction sites, according to police forces in the UK, tool thefts costs contractors about £95 million every year.

The Federation of Master Builders in October 2018, reported tool theft as extremely common and the Dorset Police reported over four-hundred tool theft cases just in 2019.

A spokesman to the Federation of Master Builders said that over half of the builders living in the UK have experienced tool theft, with rising concerns that this kind of theft is growing, causing detrimental effects to the construction and building industry. Theft of tools is mostly happening, stolen from building sites and vans, some builders are even assaulted by thieves.

Construction equipment losses will result in large financial loss and disruption to the amount of time for construction projects, highlighting the need for construction site security that is effective.
